We are always in need of more members. Firefighting is not the only role available in the brigade. We need support people, volunteer community educators, as well as equipment and maintenance officers and fire wardens to keep the brigade functioning. Age and gender is no barrier providing you are an adult (or have parental permission between 16-18 years of age).
If you're interested in joining Montville Rural Fire Brigade, either call and leave a message on 5478 5555 or drop in on one of our training nights. See our events calendar for dates and times.
A bit more about volunteering
At Montville Rural Fire Brigade we respond to local incidents, take part in hazard reduction burns in our area and surrounding areas, and we are sometimes deployed within Queensland or elsewhere in Australia to assist with large-scale wildfires and flood mitigation work. As volunteers, we give whatever spare time we are able to give for our community. Training is available to varying levels and members can then assist actively in firefighting activities or other areas such as incident management.Â
